What is Multi-Point Cutting Tool?

A mechanical machining procedure that removes material from a workpiece by rotating a tool with several sharp cutting edges on a horizontal or vertical axis, is known as a Multi-point cutting tool.

A multi-point cutter can have anything from three to many hundreds of cutting edges. Because the cutting edge emerges at the junction of the rake and flank surfaces, each cutting edge has its own set of rake and flank surfaces.

Multi-point metal cutting tools feature several cutting blades that can perform many machining operations at the same time. Milling cutters and circular saws are the most common types of cutters in this category.

Normally, a multipoint cutting tool rotates while the task remains stationary, as opposed to a single-point cutting tool that rotates while the job remains stationary.
